It looks as if you will be out of luck if you have already checked on Ancestry.

I only found the medal card for my grandfather and not his service record.

I do use Ancestry but nothing on him just a small bit on findmypast.app he was a prisoner of war .
Fresh eyes are always welcome.
William James Blake this is what i already have
Blake,W.J;Pte"The Queen's"(Royal West Surrey Regiment). He joined in July 1915,and went to the Western Front the same year,taking part in many engagements,including those of Arras,Cambrai,Ypres and the Somme. He was taken prisoner in March 1918and on returning to England was transfered to the R.A.M.C;and served with them until August 1919when he was demobalised. He holds the 1914-15 Star,General service and Victory Medals. Address;13 Heron Road Willesden Middlesex. His regimental number was 15596

70% were lost during WW2 during the bombing raids

Can anyone tell me how to apply and where to get my grandads ww1 records.I would like to send for them as i only have a small bit of info on him.
