Hello All.

Hoping someone can help me with the profession of Great Grandad John Jones, living at 24 High Street Knighton in 1917. Could it be a shoe shop?
He moved to Knighton from Lincolnshire sometime after the 1911 Census.

Many thanks, Martin Jones

Where did you get the info about the address?

Why don't you contact the Knighton Chamber of Trade? Or the information bureau?

The town is on Offa's Dyke, so they are bound to have plenty of historical info

Thanks Astra.

My Grandfather, Harcourt Jones, gave 24 High St Knighton as his address when he signed up for WW1 in 1917 in Shrewsbury, and his occupation was 'Grocer;s Assistant'.
Can't see any connection in my tree to the John Jones b1875 who was manger of the Grocer's in 1911.
