Thank you Kutchinta.

Ralph Brett is my distant uncle, and he committed suicide in 1884; I have a newspaper article which was written by Ralph stating Jane BEBBINGTON was to play for the lack of payment of a dividend.

And, Ralph's brother, my ancestor Thomas attempted suicide on the farm of his nephew James Bebbington also in 1884, at Colley's Lane, Willaston, Nantwich.

James wrote to the caught (as Thomas appeared for attempted suicide despite being 78) stating Thomas had a 'great spite' against him, and it seems Thomas attempt on his life was to 'frame' his nephew for the murder.

All quite intriuging.

Can I ask for a look up of Joseph Bebbington seniors wife? So for clarity, there are two Joseph Bebbington's here (father and son). The father's wife was MAry Bebbington who was a sister of Thomas and Ralph Brett. I wonder if she made a will, and I think she may have died in 1881.

Thank you,

Peter

Nothing around that time except a Mary Bebbington of Crewe in 1879, who was the widow of a George Bebbington, and had been the widow Arscott when she married him.
