David, it's quite unlikely that Kathleen and Lily were part of your Weston family if what Frederick & Kathleen said on the 1911 was true about only having the 3 children born and still alive.

The only way you could be absolutely certain is to buy the birth certificates to see who the parents were.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 19 Mar 2013 09:50

As I stated earlier, there are further births for the family on freebmd.......you can easily find them by inputting the surnames in the appropriate search boxes.

The 1911 census is unambiguous about the number of children born and living.

Kathleen and Lily were not born in the same part of W. Derby. Lily's birth is on LancsBMD........Kathleen's isn't

Annie Victorias birth was registered in Toxteth Park district

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 19 Mar 2013 10:01

If you think that the parents were lying when they filled in their census form, buy the birth certs to ascertain the names of the parents of the children you are querying

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 19 Mar 2013 10:04

BTW......to refer back to your original post. Unless the mother registered the death, her name will not be on the child's death cert

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 19 Mar 2013 10:07

1911 shows 243 people named Weston resident in the West Derby district of Liverpool...............the children whose names you have picked out could belong to any of those families

Can you say what prompted you to research them, when there was nothing on 1911 census to support the idea that they could be connected?

Hi thanks for all the information.I am beginning to get the hang of the search and how to interpret the findings.I think that's what has been going on not searching and interpreting the results correctly. I have found another relation Frank who was child of Kathleen Keville which is correct names etc but we did not know about. Regarding Lily and Kathleen I have been led to believe there was twins born in that generation but it seems that information may be incorrect. I need more evidence before I look any further down that road again. Everything else I have found all seems to be in order going back to Hawkhurst and beyond to John Weston b Plumstead c1773 but it thins out a bit in the mid 1800's

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 19 Mar 2013 14:03

These are on freebmd, as per previous info.

They are so easy to find...........................

Births Mar 1913 (>99%)
Weston Lillian Keville W.Derby 8b 1329
Births Mar 1915 (>99%)
WESTON Florence Keville W. Derby 8b 1360
Births Mar 1918 (>99%)
Weston Frank Keville W.Derby 8b 1031
Births Sep 1922 (>99%)
Weston Jean Keville W.Derby 8b 1220

The 'story' about twins is in no way supported by any ANY of the evidence.

One certainty: Lily and Kathleen were NOT twins............probably not even siblings.

The surname Weston is common in the Liverpool area

Yes got those right so I am doing things in the correct way. Yes Weston is a popular surname in Liverpool which is causing some confusion from living relations with who is who's cousin from where etc.

Thank you again

Hi David, I'm pretty sure KathleenBell and I are two different people, unless Kath knows otherwise!

Ancestry has quite good parish records for the Liverpool area (amongst others) but that doesn't mean that there will be a record for every person who has ever been born, married or died in Liverpool - I hit lucky with those I found.

Some of us who help on here have subs to other sites, that's how we can help find info that isn't on GR.Which sites are you using for your research?

David

David Report 20 Mar 2013 10:18

At the moment GR and free BMD, have used the free trial for Ancestry and Genealogist but I think I may need to invest further to make things a bit easier.

Gets a bit expensive this Family tree business though doesn't it?

David

David Report 21 Mar 2013 00:01

My brother is home from sea and is now keen to assist in the research so pooling our resources will help a lot.

Again thanks for all your help it has been much appreciated

Hi i noticed these post are from earlier this year but i have just come across them now whilst researching my mums nan who was Lilian Weston from Wavetree. She was not a twin and was born in february 1913 and Kathleen Keville was her mum and Frederick Weston her dad. I think they had children Annie, Jessie, Frederick (sonny), Florence and then Lily my great grandmother. Lily had daughter Jean (my nan) and Jean had four children one of which is my mum Julie, my name is Chantelle. We visited the graveside of Kathleen Frederick and children last week and this has what has set me on my journey to discover more about my family. i hope you see this and reply, you may have more info than me than we can share, im so please i have seen this i will use the other sources people have posted here in my searches, thanks
