Hi Mistycat - is there a chance they could have gone back to Scotland?

You could check the Scottish 1911 on Scotland's People.

Doing a free search does give possible matches for William,John, and William but nothing for Caroline

No way of knowing at the moment if the 3 are together or even the right family

Yes also getting a hit for a possible Caroline

For info, my Aunt used to threaten me (when I was naughty as a child) with being sent to the local orphange for Mary Springham to sort me out. We lived in Port Glasgow so I guess Mary was the head honcho at the orphanage. It was called Langlands Park Orphanage as I recall. Hope this is of interest.

Hello Elliot....apologies for slow response I have only just seen your post...

Thank you, how very interesting......I wonder if she really was the formidable character your aunt portrays or just a way of keeping her nephew in check ....tee hee

May I ask, do you have any other memories of the Springham family...I would love to hear them and most grateful for any information.

Added....having googled I have come up with this, is it the same place.....
