	Hi Sylvia..got your message..Hi also Patchem..longtime no see..........to be honest with you this looks at first sight like a posting you might expect to see on April 1st..not the 14th. There must be hundreds of Willis/Smith/Burton combinations, and I'll wait to see if Ann returns to her Thread, and what she has to offer.... I certainly admire your efforts based on no information. will get back to you. EDIT silly me..I missed the fact that Ann HAS in fact been back....sorry Ann Derek.

	Patchem ..................... maybe they delayed registering her birth???? I certainly could not find an Annie Smith mmn Ashton registered in Derbyshire in any quarter in 1924

	Whittington Derbyshire comes under Chesterfield, and that ancestry family looks very suspicious. ?? Annie Smith Mother's Maiden Surname: White Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1924 Registration district: Chesterfield Inferred County: Derbyshire Volume Number: 7b Page Number: 1269 wrong mother's maiden name. There are Smith/Ashton births elsewhere (lots). Added: ann has Annie Smith born 1924 Blackburn in her tree: wrong birth quarter: Births Jun 1924 SMITH Annie ASHTON Blackburn 8e 590

Her maiden name would be shown on any birth records on the index but a copy of the actual birth certificate should clarify if she had any previous names. EDIT: Perhaps not, a tree on Ancestry lists this as her husband & children Spouse william smith (1889-1951) Children fredrick (1916-1945) madge (1918-1973) nancy (1920-1978) Annie (1924-1995) No records attached.

Member Since: September 2010 Posts: 2 Send Message	hi thank you for everyones help as im new to this site and just trying to get used to it and how to communicate with everyone . ive reached a dead end trying to find my ancestors on my mums side her name was annie willis nee smith dob 12/01/1924 she came from the whittington area of derbyshire her dads name was william smith , mums name amy smith nee ashton both born in about 1890 thks if anyone as any information xx :-)

	Welcome to the boards Ann. I am afraid that if you want some help you have not given enough information. Can you say who you are trying to follow and give some approximate dates of birth and any other details you might know of these people? At the moment, we don't even know which Century we should be looking in. Thanks, Dea Xxx
