( I have moved this from Geneology chat board I put it on the wrong board by mistake.

Please can someone check ths i nformation for me.

Can I also have the relationships between these individuals.

Is Sarah a widow? I Have just received a marriage cert dated 21/10/1941 for one of their daughters Elizabeth and it does not give the fathers name. ? was she illegitimate or has her father died.

These look like likely candidates for Eliza Sheppey's parents: John Sheppey married Sarah Bridgwater 6/11/1816 at North and Middle Littleton

The John on the 1841 is only 25 and as Elizabeth was full age in 1841 this John cannot be her father.

Hi Jane,

The 1841 census is not very informative I am afraid. It dos'nt tell you if people were widowed liked later census. It only tells you if they were born in the county or not also.

And the ages were rounded up or down to the nearest five years.

Transcribed as Shippey on FMP - original could be either. However the age of John is given as 45 as per original.
Relationships are not given on the 1841 census (but it does look like a family with John as Sarah as a couple)

The 1841 doesn't give relationships or marital status, only occupation and whether born in county. The ages for adults are 'rounded' upwards (I think) to the nearest '5'.

This looks like them in 1851 where John and Sarah are described as husband and wife.

My gt gt grandparents separated. He stated he was a widower on his census. She said she was married on hers.

That is deffinately wrong, and is either a typo or wrongly transcribed. It is 45 on the image.
