Hi, need a birth ,parents of Alexander Cowan, born about 1867 , lived Scotland,possibly born in Ireland.

Valerie, there are several men who fit this description on the Scottish census. You need to say how you got to him - plus who did he marry, occupation, names of children. Do you have him on any census at all?

You know his wife's maiden name (you've posted it on your other thread), so look for the marriage on SP, and download the cert

Have a marriage cert for Alexander Cowan & Margaret(Maggie) king, looks like his parents are John Cowan & June (not sure of writing) Cowan, nee White.Dated 7-6-1888. He was supposed to be 21 years old then. But no birth cert yet for Alexander, cant find him in census as a child, with parents.

So you knew who his parents were..................

If he was born in Ireland, you won't find census info for him. The only Irish censuses are 1901 and 1911
