Nala - as far as we are aware, the notification button doesn't work.

Although in this instance people have been able to work from the information you gave, sometimes they pose questions that only you can answer.

If it's at all possible, it's much better to stay at your computer for at least 30 minutes after posting. Use the F5 to refresh, or look at some other thread for a few minutes before returnng to your own.

If you know you won't be able to, then just add that you hope to be back in x minutes/in the evening or what ever :-)

Their d.certs are available via:

Charles's informant is his son, and Ethel's is her daur.

A search at: http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/census/1916/Pages/1916.aspx gets
http://data2.collectionscanada.ca/006003/t-21943/pdf/31228_4363972-00642.pdf
[addy=1938 Halifax, Chas col 4=O - comment is Army service ??? - the "O"=Overseas]

A search at:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/001042-100.01-e.php
gets his 21/7/1915 attestation papers - he's assigned to the 3rd Division Train - the unit responsible for bringing supplies to the 3rd Div.
It looks like he got a medical discharge 16/4/1918. His full service record isn't online yet.

Births in SK are closed for 100y, births in BC after 1903 are closed for 120y.

His son only gives initials, but there is a guy in Vancouver with no addy listed who has a name that an evangelical minister of the gospel might give his son - see:

It is odd Margee, but it does indeed say that. On the line for Ethel it has faintly written "see letter on file".

Charles was a smith but intended occupation has been stamped as farm labourer.

Perhaps she was going to visit relatives while he was off to work?

Charles Oliver Bowen (b.1890 Worcestershire.)and his wife Ethel Jane nee Bushnell (b.1890-Worcester.) married in Worcestershire in 1913 and weeks later they sailed to Canada.
Charles then fought in WW1.

I would like help finding out if they had any children please,

They settled at first in Regina, Sask and later moved to BC eg Fort Langley and Murrayville. Any help would be appreciated.

Nala. :-)
