Hello - I'm trying to find out a bit more about the above person who was my great great great grandfather. His son, Richard Tew lived in Cheltenham and married a Fanny Gregory.

Many thanks, Sharon

??? Very much a query and only because Emmanuel is born Herefordshire. Not picking the family up as yet in 1841 when Richard may be with them if right family

Yes, not sure either. Will have to try to see if they moved from Wales to Gloucestershire. If so this would confirm that it's the right person.

2 PM's from Sharon received 26th. Only just found as GR no longer notifying of new messages via email?? Picked up on home page as "you have 3 new messages"

It's better Sharon to reply on the thread so all helpers can see the messages -

Yes, this is very interesting. Richard, his son was born around 1826, Emmanuel in 1805 if that's any help.

Yes, I think this is them. Their children included: Emily, Charles, Allan, Mary Ann, Alice, Joseph, Richard and my great grandfather William Tew.

?? is this Richard in 1841 in Cheltenham. The original looks like TEW not Terr as transcribed on FMP. Ancestry has it transcribed as Tew.

Sharon Report 29 Apr 2013 17:55

This is interesting, although the Richard Tew I'm related to was born in Shurdington, Glos and was married to Sindenia Haslam b. 1806. Their surname was indeed Tew not Terr as this was my maternal grandmother's maiden name.

It looks like Stuart and I are related. My great grandfather is the son of Richard Tew and Fanny Gregory (a generation down) but is also called William. If you get in touch Stuart, I'll share my family tree with you.

Sorry Stuart - my message to you appeared within your message to me so I thought it was you saying about WIlliam Tew being your great grandfather when it was actually me.
