my grandmother name of Alice Louise Whatling DoB 1875 I can find her in 1901 Census married with 2 children Husband died 1904 leaving her with 2 kids . the children were taken into care1908-11 (Mytle Home for destitute and orphaned children Liverpool) then sent to Canada.i cannot find any 1911 census record for Alice, if she was in the workhouse are they a separate record? this is all in Liverpool. how would I find out where she was from 1905 to 1917 when I have her 2nd marriage certificate? any suggestions as to how I can find out more? |

I wonder if this is the baptism of the baby who died 1899? Different parents but there may be a connection: |

The 1901 census shows George Whatling's birthplace as Eye, Suffolk and I notice that William Lee Whatling was born Suffolk per the 1901 so it's quite possible that they were brothers and George named his son accordingly. |
