I'm curious about this family in 1881:

BURSTON, Tom Head Married M 62 1819 Farm Labourer Leigh, Worcestershire
BURSTON, Emma Wife Married F 36 1845 Domestic (Parish Nk), Herefordshire
BURSTON, Charles Son Single M 7 1874 Scholar Leigh, Worcestershire
BURSTON, George Son Single M 7 1874 Scholar Leigh, Worcestershire

Piece: 2911 Folio: 37 Page: 14
Registration District: Martley
Civil Parish: Leigh

Address: Lower Howsell, Leigh County: Worcestershire

Is Tom really his grandfather? Wife Emma seems too young to be the mother named Emma on Selina's baptism ......

Hi, hope someone can help me as I have hit the wall with this one!

Selina Jane Burston was my Great Great Grandmother, born in Martley in 1853. Her name appears on my Great Grandfathers birth certificate, but no father is recorded. At some point she changed her surname to Singleton. Her son Charles Thomas also changed his name. What I don't know is when the name changed, or why, or how to find out! Without this info, she has disappeared for me - if you have this lady in your tree and can help me with any information, I would be really grateful.

Thanks in advance
Wendy
