Thanks had thought perhaps she was a single mum but yes hubby could have been away at sea cant find a marriage around that time though

Her father isn't with the family on the 1911 census so I think your only way of finding out who he was is to buy the birth certificate (unless someone can find her baptism record):-

I think her father might have been in the navy because on the 1911 census image under occupation Eleanor has written "Messman" and then crossed it out - presumably because that was her husband's occupation and she had written it next to her own name.

I am trying to find parents of Dorothea Mitchell bor. 1910 weymouth know her mum was called Eleanor any help greatly needed ;-)
