Thank you very much Reggie, that is interesting as the lady he was lodging with in London in 1881 & 1891 was born in Brighton,[ she states she was married, but no husband with her] she also had a daughter born in Brighton in 1857.


Thank you Tooty, I did find that, some years ago I paid someone to search for the baptism of Thomas & his siblings, none were found, he only found the marriage of Thomas sister.

There is this possible baptism on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

There was only this one in Edinburgh between 1831 and 1833

Sorry to bother you, please can you tell if it is not too much trouble, me where & when Thomas enlisted, also was it stated where he was discharged? one last thing, where did you find the info on Thomas.

Thank you very much Reggie,
It could be him, there is no records of Thomas baptism, or any of his siblings, so I don't know where exactly he was born , in 1841 the family were living in Couls Close Canongate, by 1851 he was a an Blacksmith Apprentice, the time would fit in with what I have on him, his brother was also in the army , he was also drunk on Parade & went AWL & had a Court Martial. ]

Thomas Kay born 1833 in Edinburgh, I have him at home with parents in Edinburgh in 1841 & 1851, age 18, I haven't found him until

1881, Lodger Single, Chelsea Pensioner born Scotland. 1891 Boarder Single, Army Pensioner, born Edinburgh, Scotland. & 1901 head Single, Army pensioner born , Scotland . all Heston, Middlesex, England

Please is it possible for someone look for his army records,
