Hi again Jude.I haven't half put you in a muddle.Lottie was my g mother,my mother was ethel Barbara born in Sculcoates1921.Then her brother Frederick james in leeds 1926, that,s last record of frank.Irene who died in Rutherglen was my sister.aunt Irene who will be 95 in dec lives in Derby.UncleJim is 87 living in Bournemouth.it,s for them I,m desperate to find where and when lottie died to give them closure. My mother died in 1953 aged just 32 when I was 10.hope this makes things clearer.kind regards Mary.

Mary thanks...railway porter was an educated guess (I have a similar relative and before I realised wondered why none of the several children were born in the same place).

But the only Frank I can find was born 1870, has parents George and EMMA (not Margaret) and is married to Martha in 1901 and 1911. :-(

But..if Irene is your sister that would make Lottie your mother not your grandmother (as in original post) ???? But you then go on to say then lottie my mother and her brother were admitted to workhouse jan 1928.

Do you mean Irene was your MOTHER's sister?

So what happened to your mother and her brother in/after workhouse? Do you know?

Jude

If she is Lottie, and her mother is Charlotte, might her death have been registered under the name Charlotte, under the (mistaken) assumption that Lottie was a pet name?

There is this death registration of a Charlotte Harvey with a reasonable match to the above details, in Edmonton:

Charlotte Harvey
(born) abt 1894
(Death registered) Jul-Aug-Sep 1939 Edmonton Middlesex

Sorry all just got back.Thank yo.All the other info on births u all so much. Will start with hey judeb4beatles.The Irene u found is my sister.they only went to Glasgow to get married, they would have to reside 6 wks hence the jobs.they were back in Derby when their daughter Irene was born in dec that year. The info on other births are correct and census on her family.i am amazed at info on Frank all we know about him is what,s on marriage cert, but he was railway worker prior to going to Glasgow.Last record of him is in Leeds then lottie my mother and her brother were admitted to workhouse jan 1928.Dont know if she was abandoned or widowed.do you have details of this frank,s birth.havent a clue where he is from .regards mary.

On one of the trees there is a comment from Mary Bradshaw.......

HI DIANE THIS IS MARY BRADSHAW AGAIN.THIS IS FIRST I.VE CHECKED ANCESTRY FOR AGES,SO I HADENT SEEN THIS ENTRY TILL NOW.I HAVE THIS PHOTO TO.WE STILL HAVENT DISCOVERED WHEN SHE DIED.I SENT FOR THE DEATH CERT FOR NORFOLK 1984 ENTRY BUT IT WASENT HER.HER DAUGHTER IRENE SAID RECENTLY THAT LOTTIE,S MOTHER CHARLOTTE ATTENDED HER FUNERAL.CHARLOTTE DIED 1940 SO MUST BE BETEEEN HER LEAVEING SPALDING WORKHOUSE IN OCT 1937-1940.

So "daughter Irene" is the one who was born Belper 1918 and died Rutherglen as Irene Goldie...Mary's name. So would seem we are looking for a death before 1940:-)

No Kay...had a quick search and came to the same conclusion.

None of the children were born in Scotland - although one allegedly died in Rutherglen.

So he was born in Staffs, they married in Glasgow, the children were born in Sculcoates, Lincoln Belper and Leeds....

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 16 Jun 2013 11:25

There are several trees on Ancestry but they have all obviously copied each other - and have the Norfolk death. There is a photo of her and a family photo of her parents and five daughters and a son (of which one of the girls would be her).

They seemingly had four children two boys and a girl born in four different places. What was Frank's occupation? What do you know about him?

Could you post the details on the marriage certificate, fathers/witnesses, ages and occupation please

Who was the informant on that death certificate that you say is not your Lottie?

Edit: Just to confirm. The death above is of a Lottie May Buck who married Percy V Harvey 1917, Norwich
