Hi Renes
Is that OK?

Renes Report 6 Jul 2013 19:58

No its not your fault ........ but when the marked as answered box is activated --- other helpers see it and think the information has been given

Unfortunately -- the system does not permit an Untick ... ot Ticked in error button

Did think it was strange as that baptism was on the list I posted yesterday ... with a couple of others ..... which we knew were not correct as you have seen the actual 1795 entry ---

Can you go in to EDIT ...... on your first post ..... you will see .. the Heading you gave and add NOT ANSWERED to it ---- others will see it and maybe someone who knows Weliington .. or lives near may look for a marriage .... as Shropshires parish records are in the very early days of transcribing on line

Hope this helps

He Renes
Thanks for your help.
I have seen a family tree with a marriage date of 1816 for Samuel and Elizabeth.
I cannot find any entry for their marriage.
I have emailed the tree owner but it seems that he has Elizabeth dying in Powick so the information cannot be correct.
Thanks again
God Bless
Mike

Nice find BeverleyW

Looking at what Family Search has ... It looks like they did not record much detail
At St Mary ..... Even in the early 1800 ....

I think the best course of action is to search now for his marriage entry ... Possibly in Wellington Salop - hopefully to to an Elizabeth Price ....

If she is his first and only wife, and his mother in law has not remarried , i will have. Look around Shropshire .. and hope his father is named ...

Dorset were recording the parents around 1820 ...

Hi Rene
Sadly the record showed only Samuel Charles 1975 saint Mary's Swansea.
No other detail are known, it is his family origins that I seek.

Hi Rene
Yes you have the correct family.
I remember seeing evidence of his birth in Saint Mary's Swansea.
The papers went to the USA and were lost.
Samuel died in 1856 in Wellington, Shropshire.
The 1851 census supports the fact that Samuel was born in Swansea.
I don't know where to look next.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
I have ordered Samuels death cert but don't expect much information from it.
Thanks for your heLp
Mike

Michael Report 5 Jul 2013 19:38

I have hit a brick wall even after paying for a researcher (admittedly only one hours worth) in searching for Samuel. I know that I have seen in Black and White that he was born in Saint Mary's Swansea but there is no baptismal or Newspaper reference. He is the 1951 census as coming from Swansea.
Can anyone please suggest an avenue of research?
Many thanks
Mike
