Potty is quite correct. The chances are that the boys were born in a Glasgow hospital although the mother lived in Lanark and their births would be registered in the district of the hospital and the parish in Lanark where the parents normally lived.

The birth certificate will give you the date and place of the parents marriage.

There are also two births for Hugh Campbell; one of the Archibalds and one of the Hughs are registered in Glasgow; the same names are also both registered in Lanark. It is possible that they are double registrations, ie each of the births was registered twice, once where they were born and once where their mother normally lived (have seen this before with Scottish births)

There are two births in 1919 on scotlandspeople for an Archibald Campbell King - you would need to purchase the cert to get any more info.

Born in 1919:
England & Wales, Death Index, 1916-2007

Name: Archibald Campbell King
Birth: 28 Jul 1919
Death: Jul 2002 - Caerphilly, Mid Glamorgan, Wales

Do you have Archibald's marriage cert for his father's name?

His birth should be on scotlandspeople

Hi,
I'm looking for information re- Archibald Campbell King born around 1920 in Scotland. He had a twin brother Hugh, they spent the early part of their life in an orphanage in Scotland. Archie was a member of the armed forces and fought in the 1939-45 war. He married and settled in Wales until his death in 2002.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks Dianna.
