Mary Cuthbertson, born 1865 married Jonathan Dobson, born 1862 (he was born in Cassop, Co Durham). They had a daughter Isabella Jane, born 1885 (my grandmother). Jonathan died in 1886. Mary married again, a William Swan and they had a daughter Frances Ann. |

Thank everyone for their replies - I have some certificates, although some of the names don't match up. In the 1891 Census for William Swan, it shows that Mary Ann was born at Earsdon, Northumberland, and also shows her daughter Isabella Jane Dobson was living with them. |

Interestingly, the 1891 image, there is a Joseph Robinson, Coal Miner, with wife Isabella, living in the same buildings as the William and Mary Ann (and there is a John Cutherbertson living there too!) |

What address does Mary Ann give on the 1883 marriage cert? |

Only thing I can think of is that Mary Ann's mother remarried and that one of the father's is her real father and the other her stepfather. I did look for a connection to the Joseph Robinson in the 1891 but have found him back to 1871 - no children shown. |
