Thanks very much for your help, so he was not a 'sir' then, just a name his parents gave him on his birth. Is there any census after 1911 to see who he married and if he had children and occupation etc, or was 1911 the last available to access? Im just trying to tie up some lose ends on our family tree
Thanks again
Jane

you know I think it is them. Ernest had a brother called Victor Wraight 1900, so he could have named his son after his brother, and I did question if he married Florence Richards. Thank you very much!

No problem - A number of the PR books for Cliffe-at-Hoo are on Medway City Ark, but the above which has been transcribed isn't amongst them!

Hi Penny thanks for the info it would be interesting to find out as in my grandfathers family there was only my father who would pass the wraighte name down and my grandfather's brother Victor wraighte's son Dennis died and was not married and he had two daughters. No one seems to know what happened to my grandfathers other brother Harry my father was told he had gone abroad.........Ruth :-)

Hi Ruth
My family tree is on ancestry.co.uk, called wraighte and Cooper tree with 369 people on it so far. I have your father Victor E Wraighte 1919, his father Ernest L Wraighte 1897, his father Harry A Wraighte 1868, his father George Wraighte 1833, his father John Wraighte 1801, his father John Wraighte 1778, and his father Robert Wraighte 1746. I have most of the siblings along these lines also. They originated in Kent Faversham area, Then John 1801 moved to Waltham Abbey, Edmonton. I have scanned in some photos on there too, some date back to early 1800s. My line stems down from George 1833 who was my GGG grandfather, his son Cyril John 1862, his son Cyril James 1893, his son - my grandfather Cyril Ernest 1914, his son - my father Patrick Wraighte 1945, and then me - Jane Wraighte (now Dursley) 1982. If you are a member on ancestry I can email you the link to my tree which will also show living relatives - feel free to use any of the info and photos. I am currently looking into Robert Wraighte 1746 parents but it gets trickier the further back you go. I hope you don't mind but I have added your family details on the tree also. Let me know if you want any more details, Thanks, Jane
