Find Ancestors

Hi can anyone help please, i am trying to find any information on George Kelly b1908 Dublin Clity Ireland. I have him on the 1911 Census at the age of 3
His parents Patrick age 41 and Catherine Kelly. age 36
Think i have a marriage for him, George Kelly Oct-Nov -Dec 1928 Dublin Civil Registration Marriages Index 1845 - 1958 Dublin North Ireland , but cant find which person from the women, on there who he married.
He was Irish boxing champion . upto 1937

Brenda...I have scrolled through virtually all of the marriages for Oct-Dec 1928 to correspond with the entry for Geo.Kelly Dublin Nth.(Thats the only way you can do it..!!)and the following is the only one with same entry details....

Looks like his boxing record. Do you know when/where he died, there could be a newspaper report on his life, he took part in the Olympics so could have been a bit of a celeb.

The nearest image no. to George Kelly (00185) is Rose Lawless 00186...dont know if that helps eliminate the others..Eliz Brady is 00175.....

Where did you get his year of birth...?

There are a number of George Kelly's who could be him on the 1911 census and dozens buried in Glasnevin..
Ideally we could do with his biography but there doesnt appear to be one..!

Professional Career...

George Kelly boxed between 1929 and 1938.... 84 "professional" contests
Dont know if the following was him having one comeback last fight ....seems unlikely but who knows....

George Kelly boxed between 1947 and 1947 1 professional contest

George woud have had an Amateur Boxing Career prior to turning Professional and that would have been pre 1929.....

Definately need to delve into the Archives for that info.

No other info on him im afraid, got his birth date, which we had an idea of from the 1911 census, which we found , and think might be him, With the parents as Patrick age 41 and Catherine age 36 Kelly . we know he had a brother John who is also on this census with George aged 3
We have him in " The Southern EX-Boxer magazine " Dated Nov 1986
Shows him in Dublin 1937
