He's also in Larkhall with his parents and sister Elizabeth in 1911, working as an ironmonger's shop assistant.
(Parents married 17 years; 3 children, 2 living.)

Trouble is, George Thomson, without the middle name, is such a common name, when searching for a marriage or death.

The one who "travelled between Canada and New York state at least 3 times, 25/05/1931, 24/10/1940 and 24/10/1947" -

I'm assuming that's the father, George Thomson?

Have you found George Smail Thomson on 1901 or 1911 census?

Please help me try and locate these two Thomsons in the family.

John Thomson was born 14/05/1885 in Larkhall to George Thomson and Mary Scott. He married Jeanie (Jane) Orr on 15/06/1913 in Dalserf in Scotland.
I can't find any information regarding them after this date.

George Smail Thomson was born 21/10/1894 in Larkhall to George Thomson and Maggie (Margaret) Smail. I can't find any information about a marriage or death.

His father George Thomson, born 17/12/1870, emigrated to Canada in 1925, sailing from Glasgow to Montreal, arriving 11/07/1925.

He travelled between Canada and New York state at least 3 times, 25/05/1931, 24/10/1940 and 24/10/1947 but I can't find anything for him after that.

Any help is much appreciated
