There is only one Clark/Watterson marriage

Three births in Warrington followed by 4 births in the 40s in Wolverhampton (although one could be a mistake or the last 2 were twins??) of course they may not all be the same family

If jane says she was a war baby then would she be born 1925?

I personally think Jane was born 1942 (birth not showing on freebmd) and her sister who was possibly adopted by the Gorton family was born 1941 and as mentioned by Jude married in 1964

I do hope Jane will get back to us with some dates.
From what I see. Her mother was born in 1905. Jane born 1925 in Wolverhampton and her mother marrying Clarence Clark in 1926. in Warrington.

Has Jane said she was born 1925?

I read it that her mother moved to Warrington from Wolverhampton after her birth,,,,,according to the births I have found for Clark/Watterson the last child was possibly born 1944 in Wolverhampton

Why would Jane mention it being war time if she was born 1925?

Jane

If you read ALL of the info posted, you will see your mother's husband's first name........................

.............sadly, as he was not named on your birth cert, you are unlikely ever to know who you father was

The marriage is posted, as are both of their deaths.

The OP's birth is on freebmd - 1925

Having said that, if you were not born in 1925, Jane, perhaps you would enlighten us.

I don't understand the reference to 'wartime'..................

Jane hasn't said that

I would imagine she is one of the Clark/Watterson births from 1927 to 1944

jax,

How can it be WW2 if Jane is a nonagenarian?

Edited: Nearly a nonagenarian.

My brothers-n-law were born in WW2 and are only in their 70's.

Hello Jane,

Would you mind answering a couple of questions please, just so we are all clear about your family and can move forward with helping you....

What year were you born?
Where were you born?
What names were you given at birth (both christian and surname)?

Any thing at all you know about your sister would also help.

It would seem, from your earlier post's, that both yourself and Patricia were born before Nellie moved to Warrington, where she married Mr Clark?

Thank you

If you was a war time baby maybe her husband was away at war and you were not his?

Think we are talking WW2 here Patchem

Sorry for being really slow on the uptake but as Jane is a nonagenarian war baby born 1914 to 1918, then was her Mother born in 1905??

Deleted my post after reading the above. The birth I was looking at was not a wartime baby :-)

If you purchase a copy of Nellie and Clarence's marriage cert, it will hoepfully give you details of who his Father was. This will enable you to find him on the 1901 and 1911 census.

The best place to purchase certificates in online here..

Dear Jane...

On the assumption that Reggie's find is correct and you really are nearly a nonagenarian (and well done you!) then I don't think any certificates are going to tell you much.

Were you ever in contact with your sister? Do you know when she was born?

If the deaths and burials are the correct Nellie and Mr Clark, it seems unlikely that they broke up seeing as they are buried together so long after they married.

Thanks to jude and prickly and everybody else trying to help i would just like to gather as much information as i can about my relatives before i die. So keep going there is much work to do yet and i welcome any help you can give. It would be good to know my fathers first name and i was led to believe all my life his surname name was clark and my birth name was clark. I believe they broke up and i was adopted but i dont really know anything only different tales i have been told by different people.

If you read Jane's post...she gives a name for the foster family....I keep looking at a birth in Wolverhampton in Q2 1941 with surnames that seem correct (easy to find so I am not posting details) which could be her sister

Then in 1964 in Warrington there is a marriage for the same Christian names and what I believe was the fostered name
