Welcome to the boards John. You have marked this as answered already - is that a mistake or have you found John? Edit your heading to say wrongly marked as answered, once ticked GR does not let you remove!

We need a few more clues to help you - there are about a dozen John Pointers, including those with a second name, born 1865-1875 and more if John was itself a second name.

Whereabouts in the country are we looking? What has led you to John in the first place? Do you know who and where he married or who his parents were? When did he die and where and at what age? Do you have him in a census, could you post it please?
