I'm looking for details of this chaps parents and siblings

He was born in Gateshead -Durham, then moved south to the berkhampstead area

As his mother's maiden name is the same as his it looks as though he may be illegitimate and may not have a father's name noted on his birth certificate.

Thanks Gins - ive got all his birth & death data plus his children - but cant find sibling info (back then the Kirsops never travelled alone).

Im trying to link him to the other 5 branches who moved south to Boreham wood in the 30's.

Ian if you have all his birth and death data you will know his mother's name from his birth certificate. If you post his mother's name people may be able to help find siblings or half siblings.

My mother Mary Bolton Kirsop was Andrew Kirsop's second Cousin

I have details of many Kirsop ancestors back to 1593
They appear to have originated on the Scottish English Borders Probably named after Kershop Burn in that arae and were probably border reivers, before settling In Northumberland Durham and Cumberland and later moving to scotland (Argyl) as Lead miners Gradually moved south across England
