Have made contact with a granddaughter of Charles Winbourne from his second family and it is believed Charles was actually brought up in a children's home and had no contact with his parents so that explains why it has been so hard to trace him. Many thanks to everyone who has helped me on this one though :-)

I have found out that Charles W Winbourne died 1962 in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, England. Is anyone able to see if there was any probate record for this at all?
Many thanks

I'd guess the groom was boarding there.

You could contact Southampton records office/archive/library and ask if they have a 1916 trade directory. If they do, the name of the head of the household would probably be given.

As it was during WW1, there wouldn't be an ER, not that all males were eligible to vote anyway.

Yeah just what I was thinking, he was probably just a lodger there as it is very close to Southampton docks.

Having difficulty on Ancestry finding the address in 1911 - someone with FMP might have better luck.

As he was in the RN, it might be just a temporary address when he was back on land.

Ah that's a shame no link to Winbourne. Thank you though

Hi, 54 Northam Street, Southampton.
This is the address Charles William Winbourne listed on his marriage certificate when he married in 1916 so possibly the 1901 and 1911 census. Many thanks

Each site has its own 'work- around'.

What address where you interested in, and which census?

Does anyone know if you can look up an actual address on the census reports rather than a person?

Thank you. This is def them as the same address on the 1911 census as listed on her wedding certificate. :-)

Hi, I think I have found Lilian May Britten on the 1901 census. She is listed under Lily Britten age 7, living in Southampton, Hampshire. Born 1894 and listed as daughter. Is anyone free to post the census details on here for me at all please?
Hopefully this will show her father as Issac as mentioned on her marriage certificate.
Many thanks
