Susan Report 15 Apr 2014 18:27

I cannot find any record of the birth of my Great Aunt Georgina M Wears. I know she existed as she is recorded in the home of her mother and father Margaret and Robert Wears in the 1881 Census as '2' , along with her sisters Lizzie A '4' and Ada '1'.

Georgina is also in the 1901 Census in the home of her grandmother Margaret Bell - her own mother Margaret having died aged 25 and leaving four little girls, Lizzie, Georgina, Ada and my grandmother Mary.

While I have the birth certificates of Lizzie, Ada and Mary I cannot find her on freembd and have tried twice to obtain a certificate from the GRO under Georgina M or Margaret Georgina for the two year period between 1878-1880.

The reason I chose the latter names is because I found a marriage of Margaret Georgina Wears to an Edward Rose ( Freembd) and also their emigration to Canada on the passenger lists. I thought this must be Georgina as I cannot find her in deaths or the later 1911 census. The GRO cannot find their marriage certificate as I wanted to check if it was her.

I can see all the other births on Freembd and all took place at East Heaton Farm, Newcastle on Tyne.

I want to locate her certificate because I am writing about the life of these little girls who lost their mother when she was only 25 and what happened to them and their lives. Can you please help.

Thank you
