I have been trying to find my grandmothers maiden name for best part of three years. with no luck , I know some kind folks gave me a lot of info, but becoming poorly I gave up, well the medical profession have done good things so here I go again. the family were living in Birmingham 1 back of 27 Cox Street West, Balsall Heath.in
1911 Having 3 Daughters Gertrude, Maude, Edith May, and 1 son Walter Raymond my aunt's and uncle. I would love to close this part of my search so to move on.

All info that has been found before, and advice was given previously to get one of the birth certificates.

Just get a copy of the the birth cert of whichever of your parents was her child.

Numerous people have already said this, you need a birth certificate - it's the only way you're going to find out. There's no obvious marriage, but they may not have married - he's considerably older so could have been married previously.

There's even conflicting versions of your grandfathers name - when your mother married in 1922 she named him as John Henry Roberts, deceased carman. When your uncle married in 1933 he named him as Henry John Roberts, deceased carter. Both were married from same address as 1911 census, so I know the marriages are correct.

There's no obvious death 1911-22 for the right age/area that I can see.

I'm sure I've looked at this family in the past - a tree on ancestry gives her father born 1851 Yardley - 1907 Brimingham who married in 1871 to Emma Russell, but a note says she was recorded as Emily rather than Emma.
