Michael Fenton/Graham

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Pamela Report 24 Jun 2014 14:27

Hi I am looking for any information on the above please . Michael was born in1950 in Portsmouth cannot find a death and I am not sure if he was adopted. I would be grateful of any information anyone may have.

Reggie Report 24 Jun 2014 14:29

In case he wasn't adopted, you must remove his actual DOB or your post is liable to be reported

What is your reason for asking?

One assumes you aren't connected to his mother, or you'd know if he had been adopted

Reggie Report 24 Jun 2014 14:33

I see he was registered with both surnames............unusual, as the MMN isn't either of them

Potty Report 24 Jun 2014 15:22

Possibly the mother wasn't married to the father and the father was present at the registration and acknowledge that he was the father.

I have recently found out about Michael he is my half brother. My mother never told me about Michael and she has now died so I cannot ask her about him. The surname Graham is my fathers name and the Fenton surname was the man my mother had been married.

Potty Report 24 Jun 2014 15:40

The informant on the death cert for the death Gins found might help prove if that is the Michael you are looking for.

Gins Report 24 Jun 2014 20:03

Pamela Report 24 Jun 2014 20:40

I have tried to apply for a death certificate but are asking for information I do not know the answer to any ideas please

Gins Report 24 Jun 2014 21:18

Follow the guidelines here and put the ref details in your application

Pamela Report 25 Jun 2014 15:30

Hi I have followed the link you gave me which is what I had got into before it is asking certain questions which I cannot answer and they must be filled in so I think I will have to go directly to the registry office in Portsmouth

Gins Report 25 Jun 2014 16:18

Hi Pamela

You need to register (free) with the GRO

You then need to tick the box death certificate and enter the age of the person.

Further down that same page you get this:

For all events
Is the GRO Index Reference Number known? (Explanation)

Tick YES and Enter:

Then follow the instructions

Pamela Report 26 Jun 2014 09:28

Hi I have tried this again but no joy because the child was under 16 50 years ago you need to enter date of death and the place of death and father details which I do not know
