Hi Guys have been really stressing about a couple of names related to my tree:

(1) Thomas Williams 1847 Duckton Somerset (cannot trace his parents) but my main concern is his wife Mary unknown she was born Pontlottyn Glamorgan 1839. I cannot trace a marriage to establish her surname.

(2) William Spencer born 1840 Worcester (I cannot trace his parents) he married Elizabeth Woods and died 1877

(3) James Davies born 1839 Blaenavon Wales married Martha unknown who was born Mardy Shropshire. Cant trace a marriage for James and Martha to establish her maiden name, she could well have been a Davies too. I know these are all different names but honestly they are all connected to the same tree..

Any help appreciated. I have tried Ancestry, freebmd, freecen but no luck.

Googling Duckton doesn't really show anything relevant so I wondered if if was mistranscribed.

"DUNKERTON, a parish in the hundred of Wellow, in the county of Somerset, 4 miles N.E. of Radstock, and 5 S.W. of Bath, its post town and nearest railway station. It is situated on the Kennet and Avon canal, and contains the hamlets of Carlingcott and Tunley. The surface is hilly, and the high ground commands some extensive and interesting views. Coal exists, and several mines are worked. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £420, in the patronage of the Rev. F. Sodden. The church, dedicated to All Saints, is a stone structure, with tower and antique porch. The register commences in 1728. The Baptists, Wesleyans, and Primitive Methodists have places of worship. There are a National and Sunday schools." From The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868) Transcribed by Colin Hinson © 2003

Margaret's birth certificate would give you Mary's maiden surname.

Not so sure now about that 1847 birth Chris as his birth year is given as 1846 in the 1871 census. I also rather fancied that marriage to Mary Roper but only because that Thomas had a father David and Nancy's Thomas had a son David.
