Please could I ask for help in confirming the names of Thomas Swain 1854 Runcorn, Cheshire parentage. I believed they were William and Sarah but cannot be sure. Thomas married Ann Roberts in1877 at St Peters, Liverpool.

Just to check I've got the right local index entry, I looked up a couple of other entries on the same GRO page.
The GRO register has 10 entries per page, and the local rego's have 5 per page.
The last element of the local ref is either a local page # or an entry # - since there're two 29s, it must be page #s here, so we want the other refs to be no more than 2 pages away.
They are OK, so we've got the matching entry, and thus Thos's mum's maiden surname.
