The return of the mysterious Mr Clough

Having found out a large amount about this mystery man, due to the excellent endeavours of the Agatha Christie type sleuthing available in this community, I'm now seeking some more advice please.
John William Clough born c1882 had a long and not very illustrious career. He has various aliases Harry Clough, Harry Granville, James William Clough. The police Gazette of January 1924 states that he has convictions for petty crimes in Burnley, Glossop, Bury, Dukinfield and probably many others that I don't yet know about. He definitely went to Walton prison in 1924 - his army papers state this. I can locate three definite newspaper articles about him. 1909 Manchester Courier reports his imprisonment for three months for theft in Dukinfield. The Yorkshire evening post 1912 has him remanded in custody for theft (along with my grandmother Florence Constantine) In 1906 Burnley Gazette reports he's taken to court by his wife Margaret.
How could I go about finding the prison sentences etc for him? Is there anything else I could do to flesh out the details of his life of crime and possibly my grandmother's crimes too?

They may need sifting through as may not all be for your man -there appears to be another John William Clough operating in the Burnley/ Lancashire area for the same time period, but he was born in the 1860s. There are many articles relating to his convictions.- One in Burnley 1906 suggests 31 previous offences.

I will try Lancs records office and have a look and I'll also try the national archives. I know about the other JWClough - there are lots of newspaper articles about him that I've had to sift through to find my Mr Clough!
Thank you so much for your help.
