I couldn't see any children for Bertie and Beatrice either, although there is another person in the household in 1939 whose record is officially closed but this could be a lodger or boarder.

This is Beatrice in the 1891 census with her parents, siblings and grandmother:-

Ernest Doust was killed in WW1 and died on 31 Oct 1918 shortly before the Armistice. Normally when a soldier died his Military Service Record was removed too. However, surprisingly Ernest's Record has survived providing, along with his service details, usual details of his marriage and family.

Marriage to Beatrice Lilian Wade - 23 May 1915, St Andrew's, Earlsfield, Wandsworth.
Birth of child Muriel Elizabeth Lilian, 25 Oct 1916, Wandsworth

Re the 1939 Register, perhaps the closed record is that of Muriel?

I too can't see any children for the Bertie/Beatrice Marriage.

It will be interesting to know why Colin feels there might be children.
