there is another Alice Ann Scott seemingly born Liverpool 1909 who was a patient in the Liverpool Workhouse on the 1911 Census. No parent with her, and birth place unknown

This is the first time in many years researching that I have seen reference to the birth of Mabel Spooner's first child Alice.

She was known to me as Peggy ( Margaret ) so Alice came to me as a surprise. It is correct though because they are both on the 1911 census
( no Phillip at home on census night)
I am so pleased to learn of this

The Philip Scott who arrived in New York in Oct 1910 couldn't have been the father of a child who was born in August 1911.

However, it does fit with the Philip Scott born 1883 in Tipperary, Ireland.

When was he "known to travel to India", Philip?

Was that before or after 1911?
Sounds like it should have been before, if "nothing is known of him after 1911"?

I couldn't find any Phil*ip Scotts sailing to or from India

The image says he was single, and his NOK in UK was his father, (not named) at 140 Whitburn (something beginning with B - Bdgs ??), Cromar Street, in a town beginning with K. Can't read it - it's got a thick black line through it.

He's a non-immigrant alien. No occupation given.

EDIT: Yes, occupation given as "Horseman"
