	Sometimes you are lucky, and the minister will make a note of the birth date in the Register, but it is not common. and of course baptisms can occur anywhere from very soon after birth to years later. As you are undoubtedly aware, women were not "persons", and so mothers' names often do not occur in baptism records as one gets further and further back. Registration of births did not start until July 1 1837

Member Since: May 2004 Posts: 5 Send Message	I am looking for William Cadbury b. 1560 ish, he married Agnes Cullyver 20 Aug 1594. i found an online book with a lot of the early Cadburys' What I am really looking for is a relationship between this William and Nicholas Cadbury. 	This is the earliest christening record showing on FamilySearch, just for a start, although it does show some earlier deaths and marriages. You're more likely to find christening records than birth records, prior to official registration coming into force in the 19th century.
