Hi all have had some success finding my uncles details. I have received a document regarding his stay in the cottage homes in Erdington birmingham. He states he was admitted from Smethwick which is in the West Midlands. We wondered if anybody knew how I can find out where in Smethwick he was admitted from the date he was admitted is April 1939 so he was 6 years old so I am curious Wher he was before this. Have found his mother in Pershore with my grandad on the 1939 register from find my past can anyone help???

No site no good it's knowing who and what to ask for to find him before he went into the cottage homes!! :-|

Are you talking about Admission type document?...

(if no clue on there, not sure how you will find out)
