I would be grateful if someone could look at the 1939 register for Elizabeth Winchester. Elizabeth known as Cissie was born in 1893 in Cheshire and died in Preston Lancashire 1980. She married Frederick Smith Winchester in Thelwall 1919 but then moved to the Preston Lancashire area. Their son Frederick Harold Winchester was born the same year they married. Her husband died in 1934 so he won’t be on the register but her son might be. Her son Frederick Harold died in 1945 as a prisoner of war and is buried in Yokohama war cemetery.

Cissie had a niece Irene born 1934 who was the daughter of her sister Gladys. Irene spent a lot of time with Cissie and I believe she helped bring her up so the closed record is possibly for her.

Cissie was married in Thelwall but her son was born in Kirkham only 5 or 6 weeks after the marriage. Cissie had a sister Annie who lived in Kirkham so possibly they lived there for a while then went to live in Carnarvon Road where she lived until she died in 1980.
