I have a Mary Ann hocking born 1858 with father John hocking. She married Francis Sherburn in 1880 in Burnley. Her brother was named Samuel hocking born approx 1855. I am presuming born Cornwall. I am not able to find these siblings with father John hocking on the 1861 or 1871 census, can anyone help please, :-)

According to the marriage record on the FREE LanOPC site, the father was a Collier

One of the witnesses was a SAMUEL Hocking

In 1881, she says she was born in PLYMOUTH, Devon

In 1881, Samuel married the other witness, Eliza Richards. His father John was also said to be a Collier
In 1881, his YoB is estimated to be 1853

1885, John Hocking married saying father John was ‘dead’

Address for all Hockings getting married was Patten Street, and all married in St Matthew the Apostle, Habergham Eaves

The years of birth don't match what you said in our opening post - is this the right family??
