Have you found Robert French and John, the elder Audas on any census, which should indicate if they are local or their deaths.

it also states george's occupation at the time of his marriage was Engineer
I've looked online for george in newspapers in Yorkshire but no luck

As you already know this surname is transcribed various ways which add to your difficulty.
If George is a comedian then it is worth scouring the local papers for reports of his performances which might add to your knowledge.

I have John on census from 1871 - 1901
But I cant find him and his parents George and Emma on the 1851/1861 census.
I know nothing about his parents other than what is on his birth and marriage record
Any help finding them on the census prior to 1871 would be a great help
