Totally irrelevant to your research but we used to live at Caythorpe nearly 50 years ago when my husband was in the Services. We actually lived in a little cottage on the 'main road' which was next door to the school. I seem to remember it being very old so presumably that was where your relatives went to school.

Sadly I have no photos of the place but doubtless Google will have some of a pretty little village and maybe even the school itself unless it's been replaced by a modern one.

Google for pictures of the school and go for a "walkabout" to see the cottages next to it. The primary school would appear to be still open.

Hello all,
Following on from the very much appreciated information on the Baker family above, I wondered if it would be possible to get the 1939 Register for Herbert Baker and his wife Florence (Florrie) nee Palethorpe, sometimes referred to as Brailsford (her mother married Brailsford after her Birth.)
As Herbert and Florence were married in Newark I think they still lived there but do not have an address for them. Thank you.
