I am conducting a One Name Study into the Donbavands, Dunbabins and the many other variants.

May Donbavand married Arthur France in 1936. Her mother was Mary Ann Heald (c1873-May 1940) and her father Arthur Donbavand (17 Apr 1875-March 1952).

Arthur was a concreter when he joined the Manchester Regiment in 1897. He served in the Boer War. He joined up again at the very start of the Great War and was discharged in 1916 after being wounded.

Arthur's father, Samuel Dunbavand, was born in Halton, near Runcorn.

Am looking for donbavands in manchester myself.
My grandmother was May donbavand, but i have found on her birth certificate she was May Dunbavin, seems this common with this surname
