My grandmother, Alice Hitchmough, was born on 29 June in either 1890 or 1891. Her father was John Hitchmough, by trade a roper; there are 3 possible candidates for my GGF listed in the 1881 census for Liverpool. However, a relative believes that she may have been born in Altrincham. My memories of my grandma, however, are of a woman with a strong Liverpool accent. If anyone has any information about this John Hitchmough, or is descended from him or a sibling other than through alice, please get in touch. We are distant relations!
