Hi Jayne, just noticed your note and thought I would tell you that when my dad's parents married in1916, I am 69, my grandma was a Margaret Callaghan, nee Condon aged 34 and her father is named as GERALD CONDON, SEA CAPTAIN, DECEASED. This is all the information I can find about him after trying several sites and asking others to help me. My dad always spoke of a connection with County Waterford but I have not been able to verify anything at all. He and my mother were very reluctant to talk about the "past". |

I am tracing the Condon part of my family tree and one of my relatives was a mariner of the seas. I am wondering if this means he was in the navy. Does anyone know how I can find this out? Also a lot of my relatives came over from Ireland and I would love to know when but I dont know how to find out , does anyone have any tips? I would be very grateful for any help. Thankyou, Jayne. |
