Know anything about the Coopey name? The Coopey surname seems to have strong links to Gloucester, England where I was born. Before that there are rumours of a Hugenot connection. My father and grandfather were Freeman of the City of Gloucester as am I. From my very limited research it seems that the Coopey family expanded out into Gloucestershire and beyond from a small area between Cheltenham and Gloucester called Churchdown. I believe that a relative of my father's (I think they shared a a grandfather or great grandfather, but not the surname) has undertaken a great deal of research into the Coopey family tree but unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to see the fruits of his efforts. If you're out there Dave Pollard (ex Landlord of The Duke of Wellington Pub nicknamed 'The Stinkpot' in Tredworth Goucester) do get in contact via this message board. Chris Coopey
