I am searching for any connection to my grandmother Catherine Annie Ramsay born in Cumberland in 1883. She married my Grandfather Ernest John Leece. The only information I have is that her father was John Ramsay and her mother was Dinah Boustead. C atherine Annie Ramsay died approx1938. She had my mother Ruth born 29/10/1920 and John- known as Jack born in 1909 and twins both of whom died at an early age, george was a haemophiliac and died age 4. Dinah and John Ramsay's other children were -Mary Jane b.1871,Hannah b.1872,Agness b.1876, and Mable b. 1880. according to the 1881 census there was also a Christopher Bowstead aged 27 living in the same house. Dinah Boustead is also spelt BoWstead in the marriage records. Mary Jane Ramsay married William Clarke and had 9 children, these are--Mabel, Rose, Agnes,Cathy, Ernest,Christopher,Jock(John) William and Harold. If anyone is connected to this family it would be great to hear from you. Thankyou Christine,P.S. Other names connected to these Ramsays and Clarkes are, Beauman and Durham.
