looking for info on a John Allen b1909 in Ireland.Fathers name on wedding cert is Thomas Allen.John died in wigan 1962 aged 53.his brother also was named Thomas Allen b1901 also died in 1962 wigan.do no they had a sister think her name was Annie.can anyone help. Regards mary

Dear Mary

I am searching for my father Tom / Thomas Allen who I have never met. He was born supposedly on the 05/05/1941.
His Fathers Name is or was also Tom / Thomas.
They were last seen in Pyebridge, Alfreton, Derbyshire in1962 living in a caravan.
He moved on with the rest of the Allen family (my family).
There were two sisters, possibly brothers and cousins.
A friend mentioned that they may be related to the Heron family, but I am not sure.
Were they from the north or south Ireland, or other?
Were they tinkers?
I was told they were Irish travelers; they worked on roads and building, in a ready made family team.
Please help me unlock this family secret!
I have been searching (since I found out) for more than 17 years with no luck!
I don’t live in the UK, and I think they never had a fixed address or birth certificates.
Any help will be appreciated. Even if you are not related to me, maybe you or one of your family members may have heard of them.
I don’t want to hurt or upset anyone. I just need to find out about my roots, and maybe get a family photo.
I am used to people saying that they don’t know anything. So don’t worry if you can’t help me.
