G'day from Western Australia I'm interested in the family background of Mary Ann DODGE who was born c1826 in Co Cork, Ireland. She was living in the Penzance/Lizard area of Cornwall in 1841 & 1851. Her Father Joseph, b c1791 was in the Coast Guard. Mother was probably Sarah Beer b c1791. Mary Dodge m James Oppy on 27 Jun 1852 and migrated to Australia on board the 'Bombay' late that year. James died shortly after their arrival in Melbourne. On 25 Dec 1853 she married Richard Shugg Trevorrow (b c1827, St Ives) who arrived in Melbourne on the 'Kalmia' in 1852. They had the following children: Margaret Lawry b1855 Joseph Thomas b1857 Samual John b1862 Elizabeth b 1866 Richard Shugg b1867 Mary Ann Dodge is my wife's GGGrandmother. I''d be happy to share any info which may be of interest.
