Hi Jacqueline;

I am trying to find my Wakefield family as I was born in 1945 and immediately adopted by another family. My mother (who was unmarried) was named Elsie Wakefield and I believe she was from either Liverpool or the Prescot areas.

The only record I can find gives a birth year of 1921 (I am waiting for a copy of the birth certificate). There is also a marriage in 1945 to a Thomas Henry Edwards in Liverpool.

As I was legally adopted, any records of my birth, parentage, etc are locked and I cannot get access to them, hence my searching this way. If there is a possibility that there is some connection I would be very grateful to hear from you.

Hello again Janet, you need to carefully read through a thread before posting - you'll see previous posters have also been advised about the age of the thread and how to make contact under the circumstances (as I've advised on the other old threads you've found this morning).
