Trying to find Maher

I am looking for information about James Maher who was my great grandfather. He was born in Ireland, possibly in Tipperary in about 1844. In 1881 he was living in Leeds having married Selina Moorhouse, in Leeds in 1866. Selina Moorhouse was a British subject but was born in Denmark, her Mother was Julia Vangel(?) At that time they had 6 children, John,Johanna, Elizabeth,William,Martin and James . I can find Selina in 1901, still in Leeds, still recorded as married but he is not on the census . There are also more children, Thomas, Annie and Herbert(although this is on the census as Albert, but was wrongly transcribed from the registar). Herbert Maher was my grandfather and he died in 1924. Any information would be very welcome, Thank you. |
