Hi Karen. I am looking for the following family for the 1851 and 1861 census. I've tried looking for them but haven't had any luck. Maybe I just haven't come up with the right ''mistranscription''. McCOLL Bernard c1811 (59 when he died in Paisley 1870) born Ireland, ?Foundry Labourer Ann c1807 (62 when she died in Paisley 1869) born Ireland Ann(ie) c1853 born Paisley Bridget c1842 born Ireland (I have her separately as a boarder in 1861) Unsure about any more children. (Did find another family member Bernard who was down as Barney; don't know if that helps) Hope you can help. Margaret

Hi Karen, Can you have a look for a marriage between James Ingles and Elizabeth Ross in the Edinburgh area sometime between 1790 and 1812 please. All I have on them is the names from their son James' death certificate. He was born around 1810 going by the censuses and either in Glencorse or Musselburgh. The father is listed as an innkeeper on the death certificate.Maybe you can also find them in 1841 and see if you can find any children please. Many thanks, Joan

hi karen, wondering if you could find any children for me from the marriage of George Tait & Isabella Henderson, m1800 Watten, Caithness, Scotland. I have 2 sons of theirs John 1801 & George 1808 but assuming there are a lot more. Also I don't have the parents of George or Isabel(la) so if you could maybe look at that if you can find their marriage records I would really appreciate it. thank you, regards joanne

Hello Karen, Are you still offering look ups? If so I would be grateful if you could find this couple on the 1891 census [presumably living in Glasgow] JAMES AIRD , a carter, born 30-03-1857 in Glasgow wife: JESSIE, a cotton powerloom weaver, born c1860, I don't know where but I would guess also in Glasgow [This is what I want to know, plus any children they had at the time] Many thanks for your offer, Glenn

Dear Karen, I recently bought the marriage certificate of my g x 3 grandparents James Hood/wood and Mary McIntyre (1851) and it showed that the witnesses to their marriage were William Hood and Alech McIntyre. I was wondering if they were their fathers....a long shot but it might pay off! I noticed that an 1841 census that you kindly provided showed James living with an older William and I wondered if this was my family. I know that the information provided in 1841 is limited but would you be able to tell me what occupation William senior was? Also would it be possible to follow the family through to the 1851 census. On his marriage certificate in September 1851, Jame’s occupation is recorded as a slater and his address is No 38 North Broadford. They were married in Old Machar, Aberdeenshire (both of this parish). Thank you very much for looking at my request. I will reply as soon as I am able. Regards, Helen For your reference: 1841 Census Elizabeth Hood abt 1801 Ireland Aberdeen Greyfrairs Aberdeenshire 168A Elizabeth Hood abt 1841 Aberdeenshire, Scotland Aberdeen Greyfrairs Aberdeenshire 168A Grace Hood abt 1836 Aberdeenshire, Scotland Aberdeen Greyfrairs Aberdeenshire 168A James Hood abt 1829 Aberdeenshire, Scotland Aberdeen Greyfrairs Aberdeenshire 168A Margaret Hood abt 1822 Scotland Aberdeen Greyfrairs Aberdeenshire 168A William Hood abt 1801 Scotland Aberdeen Greyfrairs Aberdeenshire 168A William Hood abt 1838 Aberdeenshire, Scotland Aberdeen Greyfrairs Aberdeenshire 168A all living with loads of other people Civil parish: Aberdeen Greyfrairs County: Aberdeenshire Address: Causewayend
