LOL :-) I know what you mean about the census, My head is spinning with the whole thing. I am now totally confused and I think I have totally confused you too. In Trying to answer you questions here goes..... John Morgan was born 1871 and is listed on the 1881 Census as the son of Ralph Marshall born 1853. This is incorrect as John Morgan was not Ralphs son He was Mary Marshalls brother as it correctly states on the 1891 Census, which lists him as the head age 20. This is what I am curious about, why is he the head and where is Ralph Marshall in 1891 along with his daugher Mary E born 1879 Thomas born 1877 IS the son of Mary and Ralph but the nephew of John Morgan as is Thomas age4 The Mary Morgan on the 1891 Census age 47 widow is not on the 1881 census, it was Mary Marshall her daughter who is on the 1881 census born 1857 and born in Ireland (boy her mother had her young didnt she I just noticed that one) So she is not the widow of Ralph Marshall born 1853 she is his mother in law. So......... judging by the 1891 census the way I read it is, Mary Marshall is living with her 2 sons with her brother John Morgan age 20 and her mother Mary Morgan aged 47 but where are her husband Ralph Marshall b1853 and her daughter Mary E living? As to the 1901 Scotland Census, yes they are all accounted for. Your thinking 'Clear as mud right?' Sorry for the hassle Dont waste anymore time on it if you have better things to do Thanks Linda

Ann Have you actually ordered the deaths cert as it may hold some info that will help you out maybe residence at time of death just so we can see who registered him and where he died ect. It may be the missing link you are looking for as on the 1881 census you can do an address search.**So you mean you haven't found any of the family in 1881 is that correct?** I have looked also must be so badly mistranscribed only thing I think you should do if you haven't done it is trawl through Kensington districts on images you never know what you will come across, it's all I can think of I had to do this with one of my ancestors whose surname was Kellett but mistranscribed Roberts (Doh) the thing was there was not even a Roberts on that page and the image was so clear. Here is Anns second marriage~just incase you didn't have it Marriages Dec 1889 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Killingbeck Anne Scarborough 9d 706 Lawson John Hartas Scarborough 9d 706 Zoe

Hi Zoe I am really struggling to find my 2x Great Grandparents on any census returns. The only information I have is that Charles Pratt married Maria Wiginton in 1827 in Heston, Middlesex. On the IGI are baptisms at Isleworth, M/sex of children William Pratt 1830 and Maria Pratt 1831. I do have William in Staffs from 1871 onwards, he married Sophia Seaton from Gawcott, Bucks, no marriage record found as yet. I would love to find out where his parents came from so any information would be very welcome. Regards Ann

Margaret Do you have her marriage cert? If so does it have a fathers name on it? Strange it fits that the family you named have a tavern and a adopted daughter of the same first name what was her name when she married was it Smith? Because you know trying to find her will be V V hard! Not sure about an abandoned baby book but if you ask on main board they should be able to guide you where to look.. Zoe
